Baby Tooth

Never reimplant a baby tooth, as it can cause damage to the developing permanent tooth underneath it! Call your pediatric dentist immediately to bring your child in for an exam. Your dentist can assess if there is any root structure left behind, any fractures in adjacent teeth or to check for soft tissue injury. Plan for a soft diet for 3-5 days at minimum!

Permanent Tooth

Promptness is ideal when a permanent tooth gets knocked out! Lightly clean the tooth if it has debris and reimplant the tooth, keep it in saliva or milk and transport the tooth as soon as possible to your pediatric dentist. Most dentists have after hours for their patients!
